Dollywood Family Lounge

The Dollywood Family Lounge is an extensive renovation within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, providing a welcoming retreat for families supporting critically ill children.

The design creates several zones for multiple families to find respite — lounge seating, cafe-style tables, upholstered booths, window-facing counter seating, recliners, and built-in sleeping accommodations. Architectural PLAM-clad "portals" create visual destinations throughout the lounge, framing booth seating, window overlooks, and the sleeping niches. Power- and USB-charging are integrated throughout the lounge, ensuring practical comfort and connectivity.

Flexible furniture balances comfort with durability and infection-control requirements. Both the furniture and environmental graphics complement the Dolly Parton Children's Hospital brand, reflecting compassionate, family-centered care.
