Two Rivers Church

The design of Two Rivers Church engages the local design vernacular with stacked stone and exposed timbers, but modernizes it with exposed metal and glass. The main sanctuary space is constructed from an inexpensive pre-engineered metal building structure, then surrounded by traditionally-built program spaces. The design evolved from the church's mission: to de-institutionalize worship, moving church beyond typical forms of religion and allowing worship to evolve organically.

Additional phases at the church included an expansion of the main building and a separate youth building, The Shed. The Shed's design takes inspiration from regional barn architecture, with exposed wooden beams and durable cement siding around an inexpensive pre-engineered metal building. The interior is clad in youth-appropriate plywood for durability, warmth and a generally youthful vibe.
