John Michael is an Associate & Stewardship Coordinator at Barber McMurry. With a background in environmental studies and wilderness education, he brings to the studio a passion for environmental stewardship, equitable communities, and the natural beauty of East Tennessee. Outside of work, John Michael is a member of the AIA East Tennessee Committee on the Environment (COTE) and the Emerging Design Excellence Network and serves as treasurer for the transit and housing nonprofit Yes! Knoxville. His favorite place in East Tennessee is leisurely fishing along the Little River in GSMNP.
